Cryomodule is a revenue-increasing solution for operators providing Multimedia Messaging Services (MMS) by making the MMS service available to subscribers with broken or invalid MMS configuration on their handsets.
The problem
Mobile phones can't just "connect" to a URL. For both WAP and MMS, certain parameters of a mobile phone need to be properly configured in order to make any connection work. Today most mobile operators use proactive over-the-air provisioning (OTAP) mechanisms to help subscribers do the configuration properly.
An OTAP platform usually will send a specially constructed data message to the subscriber; with the hope that subscriber will be able to receive, understand, open, see and save the configuration. Despite the OTAP effort, considerable numbers of subscribers fail to do so.
By in-depth investigation we've discovered that, among the subscribers that can't use WAP and MMS, most had the configuration of some other operator probably because they use multiple SIMs on a single handset.
The configuration is stored on the handset and when the SIM is changed, a working configuration immediately becomes invalid for a different operator's network.
Our solution
We help modify the Core IP (GPRS) network of the operator to make the network accept any provisioning configuration imaginable, so the home operator will accept settings of any other operator who may have done the initial provisioning.
